Bio

Hello, my name is Setareh Zakikhani.
I was born and raised in Iran, Tehran. After finishing high school, I was given my diploma in mathematics. I moved to United States with my parents on 2009. It has been a tough time. I struggled to learn English and worked hard every day to succeed. But so far, I have been attending Phoenix College pursuing an associate in science with the GPA of 4.0. I’m a full time student, at the same time I am working part time in the Computer Commons at Phoenix College, as lab assistance. I also work part time at Macy’s during the weekend. Basically, I’m working seven days a week! In addition I am currently tutoring Math, Chemistry and Biology at the Success Center. I’m a phoenix college ambassador and a member of robotic club. I consider Phoenix College as my second home. I live with my parents, my sister and my cute dog. I have a super busy life. But hopefully I’ll graduate as an honors student in May 2013 with my sister.
I always wanted to further my education by getting a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in the Biological field. In addition physics and mathematics are my preferred subjects; I also enjoy all aspects of science, whether it is from the biological or the physical sciences.
I have always dreamed to be a biological researcher to improve the health and lengthen the lives of many people and this dream would never be realized without getting the best education. Thus, I’m glad as an S-Stem scholar I can get some experiences related to my major to reach my goals.
